Fact: There are 22
reportable accidents involving fork lift trucks EVERY DAY!!
That amounts to 8000 per year. Sadly about 12 were fatal but due
to good training, strong commitment to 'duty of care' and harsh
penalties, the number of deaths is being reduced each year.
Whilst
deaths are being reduced, fines seem to increase.
Names of people and
companies involved have been removed.

safety laws after an employee was crushed to death in a fork lift
truck accident.

Safety Executive (HSE) after an employee was pinned to the ground
by a forklift truck.

A Somerset metal engineering company was fined after an employee
suffered serious injuries when a forklift truck tipped over consequently
trapping his leg under the load.
March 31, 2011.
A Harwich food processing company was prosecuted after an employee
broke his leg when struck by a fork-lift truck.
March 3 2011.
A Yeovil vehicle company was prosecuted after one of its workers
fell from a cage balanced on a fork lift truck.
March 10, 2011.
A Lincolnshire pipework company was fined after a fork lift truck
that had been lowering a cage containing two workers to the ground,
hit one of the men.
